Welcome to drewlaniusmusic.com, the official online home of Greater Cincinnati Area Singer Songwriter Drew Lanius.
After years of being asked why he has never released any of his original music, Drew finally offers up a collection of his original songs on his debut CD ‘of the past and foreground’.
Borrowing from rock, blues, folk and gospel music, ‘of the past and foreground’ is a collection of songs written and recorded by Drew Lanius that blended with lyrics dealing with human frailty and competition, give a visual element to the music.
The other musicians featured with Drew on the new CD are some of the hardest working musicians in the country. Some are veterans of the music scene from northern Kentucky like Rick Marksberry, who is featured playing harmonica on Drew’s local blues/rock success “Better Than Being Alone”.
Rick also plays bass guitar on several other songs from the CD. He is joined by Rick Kinman, a long time local tunesmith who brings mandolin and electric guitar to several songs.
Performer and producer Craig Wilson is featured on piano and has assisted in much of the production.
Cincinnati musicians Richard “Bam” Powell, Scott Covrett and Willy D also take the spotlight throughout the CD adding layers of their musical crafts to this diverse mix of melancholic rock with soulful blues and Americana.
Brothers Brandon and Donovan Schlunt add some of the hyper-dynamic drive that helped fuel their own bands to a few of the tracks.
There is talk of a LIVE performance of some kind for the very near future so stay “Tuned In” for more updates as they become available.
